Sunbright DECA Students Promote Water Stewardship

Sunbright DECA students Cassie Bryam and Barbara Durham have been working on a project to encourage individuals to recycle plastic bottles and to use refillable water bottles instead. DECA Logo Their project named "Drink More Water: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" was recently presented to the their classmates.  Cassie and Barbara also distributed free reusable water bottles to middle and school students at the school.  They encouraged everyone to drink more water as a healthy lifestyle and to reduce the use of plastic water bottles that end up in landfills.

The club also encouraged students to use the hydration station installed at the school to help reduce waste.  DECA students estimate that they have kept over 4,400 plastic bottles from going into the landfill.

DECA is an international association of marketing students.  It seeks to provide students with learning skills that will need in future jobs.  Sunbright's DECA sponsor is Michelle Watson.
