Pre-Registration for 2017-2018 PreK & K

Early Registration for PreK and Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year will be the first week of May this year.  If your child will be four (4) years of age on or before August 15, 2017, he/she may be eligible for PreK registration.  More complete guidelines to see if your child qualifies for PreK can be found here.
If your child will be five (5) years of age on or before August 15, 2017, he/she will be eligible for Kindergarten registration.  Children who participated in the 2016-2017 PreK program may enter kindergarten next year.  
The schedule for Early Registration is below:

 Oakdale School  Monday, May 15 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.
 Coalfield School  Tuesday, May 16  9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
 Petros-Joyner School  Tuesday, May 16 12 noon to 2:30 p.m.
 Sunbright School  Wednesday, May 17  9 a.m. to 12 noon
Parents attending registration should bring the following:
1. A copy of the child’s Social Security Card.
2. A copy of the child’s State Birth Certificate (NOT the mother’s copy)
a. You may obtain a copy of a Tennessee State Birth Certificate for a charge of $8 from the Health Department (correct change or check).
3. A copy of their Insurance Card
4. A copy of the NEW Immunization/Physical Form (Must be the NEW form)
a. Morgan County Schools cannot accept the old form.
b. Pick up the NEW form from your doctor or the Health Department.
5. PRE-K ONLY - Income Verification (Ex. Pay check stubs, food stamps, W-2, etc.)
  • On the Immunization/Physical Form, all required vaccines must be listed and the bottom left box completed by the Provider.
  • The Physical Exam Form must be signed and dated by the medical provider after April 1, 2017.  
    • Kindergarten students MUST have the Physical Exam before school starts in August.
    • PreK students should wait for a letter of acceptance before proceeding with a physical and the immunizations.
  • All foreign-born children 12 months or older entering school for the first time must present Evidence of a TB Skin Test. A result must appear on the Health Form.
  • Children previously enrolled in a TN Public School, who completed the school year, and are up to date on immunizations and the physical exam, do not need to register again.
